Have patience, we are going to have a few hickups if you han’t noticed them already.
We’ll be back and running with new posts in the next few days.
A photographer friend of mine forwarded this to me. It is a bit heavy, so be aware. Hope you enjoy, if enjoy applies to such a dark video. It starts off a bit slow, so have a little patience. It’s a bit dreary for my sunshiny attitude but I appreciated it enough to share.

I have been asked, more and more, to provide something “different” in my imagery–something that is not your run-of-the-mill portrait shots. In this shoot, we went for a more confrontational crazy feel in the imagery and at the same time not too surreal. Here are three images that are somewhat similar but that demonstrate different moods.
The first image show Lindsey’s beauty, which just shined out of her. In this image, I went for a more traditional glamor photo with all the retouching that you might expect, like smoothing the skin, brightening and sharpening the eyes, brightening the teeth, drawing attention to the lips, etc. All of these retouching techniques are wonderful but they are also exactly what you might expect from a good portrait photographer. I wanted to start with traditional easy shots to make sure that I could provide as much of a variety as possible.
After having these tradtional shots in the bag, we went on to a more get-out-of-my-face, look like the second photograph. I changed the lighting to be a bit harsher and highlighted the eye. I posed her to have her face squared off to the camera, had her tilt her head a bit down in a more primal, confrontational pose to go along with the lighting and the feel we were trying to create. In post-production, I darkened areas of the image even more to make the viewer focus on her glaring eye and mad attitude.
For the last shot, I wanted something a bit crazy–an image that made you wonder if it was safe to be around her. Lindsey took care of the posing herself on this one and I worked in post-production to create a very contrasty look with the attention again going to the eyes.
Again, as a Knoxville portrait photographer, I want to give my customers what they desire. Whether I’m working on a happy-go-lucky children’s shoot or a dark crazy young lady, I strive to provide something fresh and new.
